About the Markup Engine

Markup is the percentage of the cost that is added to arrive at the selling price. It is not the same as Profit Margin. A 50% markup does not equal a 50% profit margin.

Pricing Rule: Markup shows profit as a percentage of your cost. Margin shows profit as a percentage of your revenue. If you buy a product for $100 and mark it up by 50%, your selling price is $150. Your profit is $50. Your margin is $50 / $150 = 33.33%.
