About the Solar Subsidy Engine
Government incentives radically change the economics of going solar. The largest of these is typically the Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC), which allows you to deduct a massive percentage of your system cost directly from your taxes.
Pricing Rule: Most federal tax credits apply to the Gross System Cost before state rebates are factored in (unless the state rebate is considered a non-taxable grant). This calculator assumes the federal percentage applies to the full gross amount. Cost-Per-Watt (PPW) is the gold standard metric for comparing quotes across different installers.
