Going completely off-grid requires over-engineering your system to handle worst-case scenarios, system losses, and multi-day storms. This calculator builds in standard industry buffers to ensure you never lose power.
Engineering Rule: The solar array is upsized by 10% to account for inverter and wiring losses. The battery bank assumes modern Lithium-Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) chemistry with a safe 80% Depth of Discharge (DoD). The inverter size automatically applies a 25% safety margin above your peak load to handle motor surges (like AC units or well pumps starting).
